About

Exploring big ideas and the stories that connect us.

PIAF Conversations are your opportunity to engage more deeply with our Festival artists as they reflect on their work and the challenges, questions and propositions they are presenting at 2017 PIAF.

Writer and dramaturg Ruth Little returns as our Festival Navigator to lead you through artist discussions and forums and to explore the Festival’s themes via her regular blog on our website.

BETWEEN THE EPIC AND THE EVERYDAY: A CONVERSATION WITH BACK TO BACK THEATRE

Join us for an extended conversation about Back to Back Theatre’s latest work Lady Eats Apple.

Back to Back Theatre continues to transform contemporary theatre in Australia and around the world with their unique theatricality and imagination and we are excited to present the multi-award winning company’s most recent work Lady Eats Apple in Perth as part of PIAF 2017.

Back to Back presents theatre works that are dynamic, evocative and explore the value and limits of humanity. Their work is playful, poignant and always innovative with its staging and content.

This free event is designed to open up a space for discussion about this important company and their new production, Lady Eats Apple. It will also include a panel discussion about some of Back to Back’s most famous works.

Chaired by Ruth Little and Helena Grehan, the event will include responses to the play by Caroline Wake, Helena Grehan and Josephine Wilson who have many years of experience in writing about and responding to theatre projects, followed by a dialogue with members of Back to Back Theatre with opportunities for questions from the floor.
